Created by the launch of the sixth form in September 2023 this is an opportunity to join a stable and committed staff team in a small but growing independent school with an exceptional reputation for the creative arts.
The successful applicant will teach Design Technology/3D Design in KS3 and KS4 and depending on experience may also teach some 3D Design in KS5. The post will be at least 0.4 FTE but could be expanded to 0.8 FTE or full time. The ideal candidate will have experience of developing their own practice as a designer or artist.

Thames is a thriving mainstream and diverse independent secondary school rated Excellent by ISI. Located next to Clapham Junction station, it has recently moved into brand new, purpose built premises, with carefully designed Design and STEM workshops, equipped to a very high standard with an array of woodworking machines, 3D printer, pressure former and laser cutter.

The role:
Teaching DT/3D Design in KS3 and KS4
Potentially teaching 3D Design in KS5
Working from existing schemes of learning and also creating new, well-differentiated schemes of learning and resources
Preparing pupils for GCSE Art and Design (3D Design)
The post is open to an excellent teacher who will:
Be a graduate with a relevant good honours degree
Have some experience in either the private or maintained system
Have a commitment to embracing challenges and raising pupil attainment
Be a creative, inventive and dedicated classroom practitioner with a real passion for your subject
Have an exceptional eye for detail
Be excited by the school’s vision and respect the school’s values
