A level 3 Engineering apprenticeship with a focus on precision mechanical assembly and fitting, electrical/electronic integration, technical test and evaluation, metrology and precision measurement. The candidate will learn these skills whilst developing a general knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles and practices.

Torus Measurement Systems design, develop and manufacture a range of measurement and inspection machines. This includes fully automated machines and integrated turnkey solutions for the packing, medical and aerospace industries. The vacancy being offered is for the role of Electro – Mechanical Apprentice Engineer. As you develop your technical skills and knowledge you will be expected to:

• Assemble precision machines from technical drawings
• Test precision machines to ensure conformance with technical specifications
• Be able to undertake general machining and adjustments using a range of machine tools
• Have an ability to make judgements based on metrology skills and knowledge
• Work with IT systems and dedicated machine software packages
• Have an ability to fault find using your new mechanical and electrical skills
• Interpret mechanical, pneumatic and electrical drawings

You will work closely with a small team of experienced engineers at Torus Measurement Systems. Our Telford site is clean, tidy and modern. The site provides an ideal learning environment for an enthusiastic future engineer.

The successful candidate will also be given the opportunity to attend the NPL Level 1 and 2 courses to further strengthen their underlying metrology knowledge, which is a pre-requisite for any Torus Technology Group Apprentice.
